Dr. Shoemaker had the privilege of being the main podium host during the scientific programs at the International Congress of Oral Implantologists February 27th -29th 2020 in Houston, Texas. Being invited to participate in the symposium was a great honor and Dr. Shoemaker enjoyed collaborating with his peers.
Stephanie Sertic Earns Highest Honor
Stephanie Sertic, a registered dental assistant who has been with Dr. John Shoemaker’s General, Implant and Sedation Dentistry practice for over 8 years now has earned her “Fellow” from the Association of Dental Implant Auxiliaries in February of this year. Stephanie has put in hundreds of hours of continuing education in implant dentistry and presented a research table clinic before her peers and implant dentists world wide at the International Congress of Oral Implantologist Symposium in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the only registered dental assistant awarded the honor at this symposium. Stephanie has over 25 years in the dental field assisting, teaching assisting, hospital surgery assistant and implant assistant. She also served as a medic in the Navy for 8 years.
After joining Dr. Shoemaker’s office she has continued to strive for excellence in care for every dental patient whether their treatment involved a simple filling or was a complex dental implant reconstruction case. She appreciates being a part of such a caring professional dental office. She is a wonderful asset to Dr. Shoemaker’s office using her knowledge and experience to enhance their patient care in every possible way. Amen Clinic, April 28 & 30
Dr. John Shoemaker and his assistant Stephanie were able to participate in the first annual Texoma area Amen Clinic sponsored by The Seventh-day Adventist church in Denison. The two day clinic offered free medical & eye screenings along with free dental extractions and fillings. Stephanie and Dr. Shoemaker helped over 40 people in the dental clinic. Multiple doctors & dentists from the community and Texas were on hand to assist with this program. Both days were an all day affair with people in need receiving help with many of their health issues. The church & the community had many volunteers with meals being served throughout the day to those in need and the hundred or so volunteers involved in this wonderful service. Approximately 250 people were helped with their medical and dental care and over 500 meals were served to the volunteers and persons in need in the Texoma area.
The First Annual Chili Champions for Children Benefiting the Grayson County Child Welfare Board supporting children in foster care
was held, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Loose Wheels in Denison, Texas. Phil and Alisa, part of our family of patients, represented our office with their wonderful chili and their FIRST PLACE BEANS!
