I’ve been a patient of Dr. Shoemaker’s since November of 2006. He has cared for all my general dentistry needs and placed two implants during the years. I knew I wanted to keep my compliment of teeth and wanted them to be real or at least permanent and to control my bone loss. I didn’t want my face to begin to shrink and become “old” looking. My options were a bridge or single implants. I felt single implants were the best choice. I chew, floss and brush them just like my regular teeth. I have a wide smile so they are seen often. No one knows they are not my own teeth. The only difference I notice between the implants and my natural teeth is that the implants are smoother. My surgeries went fine. I was given a shot of Novocain and don’t recall any discomfort or even needing pain pills. I don’t regret choosing implants and would do it again if necessary.
